Ahmad A. Amir, M.D., is a highly qualified ophthalmologist. Dr. Amir sees patients at the practice’s office in San Luis Obispo, California.

Dr. Amir earned his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Washington, D.C. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia and an internship in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, also in Philadelphia. Dr. Amir is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Amir specializes in cataract surgery, refractive surgery, conductive keratoplasty, and general ophthalmology. He also focuses on LASIK surgery and glaucoma treatment, helping patients address a wide range of vision concerns and eye health needs.

Outside of work, Dr. Amir volunteers his time in community service and medical leadership. He has served as a Health Services Cluster member for the San Luis Obispo County Economic Vitality Corporation, as a board member and past president of the San Luis Obispo County Medical Association, and as a delegate to the California Medical Association.

In his free time, Dr. Amir enjoys cooking, hiking, and spending time with his children. He is also an avid movie lover and serves as president of the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival.
